Concave

What makes a man, a man, a man
Is it the cut of his tailor
The width of his shoulder
The length of his hair
Or make of his shoe

It’s his word
How he speaks what he believes in
Weighs what’s relevant
And makes a stand

Even if alone

It takes a will unshaken
A mind that is keen
Vision that grasps what can’t be seen

Beyond the lights and makeup
Through the losses and gains
Over the setbacks he trains

What makes a man strong
Isn’t power money or health
But courage to stand down
Humility to accept when he’s wrong

A man, who may not understand women
But tries and learns to appreciate
The differences in the genes
Their complexities teem

Not just a man if human
Not just a thought if ideal

A vessel of change
An evolving recipe
