The Hedonist

Unto others as to you
Transgressions that subdue
Unto those who fall away
With supplication must pay

Juvenile and docile
Return wrongs with a smile
For to repay is to resent
Calamity in an instant

With years comes indifference
Grown accustomed to the penance
The void is not the unknown to fear
But a reminder to set course and steer

Subdued thoughts of excess
To discover not regress
Take life for all it withholds
Despise only that which controls

Forever isn’t bound by suggestion
Death isn’t the sum of the equation
Every trace of innocence is ignorance
Partake in the safety of pretence

Unto others as to you
Accept what you can’t undo
Unto those who fall away
Rules apply only if you play
